What is Passport York?
Your Passport York username and password (and your Duo Two-Factor Authentication) gives you access to a wide range of online services and the tools you will use to enrol in your courses. When using Passport York your login will expire after 90 minutes, and do not forget to logout when you are done.
Set-up Passport Account
If you have just started the enrolment process (ie. Booked your enrolment appointment or scheduled your YU START access day), please allow 24-48 hours to pass before creating your Passport York Account.
Important* It is strongly recommended that you set up your own Passport York Account and Duo Two-Factor Authentication Account and you should not share your username/password with others.
Instructions for newly admitted students who have not yet signed up for a Passport York account are available online. Once you have read the instructions, complete the following:
- Go to URL: http://mms.yorku.ca/
- Click on the “New Student Sign Up” link.
- The next screen will ask you to login with your Student Number and Date of Birth.
- Follow the steps provided
You will be asked to give yourself a Passport York username and password. Make sure you remember these. You may want to write them down until you memorize them.
NOTE: Your Passport York username will also be used for your official York email address (username@yorku.ca) as well as after graduation for your alumni email address (username@alumni.yorku.ca). Choose a username that you will be comfortable keeping for several years. Remember, you will be using this email address to communicate with your professors and fellow classmates, so choose an appropriate name!
To reset your account, in the event that you forget your password, you will need to set-up your secret questions. Remember to try to pick an answer that you will remember and other people do not know.
You can only sign up for a Passport York Account once. If you forget your username or password you cannot sign up for a new account. You will need to follow the instructions for resetting your password or looking up your username.

Reset your password here or contact University Information Technology (UIT) at 416.736.5800 or email askit@yorku.ca. If contacting UIT, remember to identify yourself as a new student admitted to the Faculty of Science.
Forgot your username?
Go to the Reset your password application and follow the steps as though you are changing your password. At the end of the process, your username will be displayed.
Duo Two-Factor Authentication
Two-Factor Authentication is an extra layer of security for your York Passport York ID, designed to prevent unauthorized access to your account and to decrease account compromises and identity theft.
