In this four-year BA degree program, students engage with contemporary digital culture from arts and science perspectives. In today’s quickly changing digital world it is often not enough to understand only the technical or aesthetic sides of digital media. To have a comprehensive understanding of a project you must be able to understand the big picture. This program gives you the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of digital media from interdisciplinary perspectives. The curriculum is truly interdisciplinary, transcending the boundaries of computer science, fine arts, cultural studies and social science. You will take a diverse set of courses including: 3D Computer Graphics, Fundamentals of Data Structures, Designing Interactive Objects, Interactive Performance and Installation, Popular Culture: Explorations in Theory and Practice, Machine-Mediated Human Communication, and Virtual Reality. You also have the opportunity to do an optional four- to 16-month paid internship between third and fourth years.
