Environmental Biology

Includes: Biodiversity Assessment, Conservation Of Endangered Species, Restoration Ecology, Landscape Ecology, Conservation Genetics, Ecotoxicology And Invasive Species Biology

 

Do you care about the environment? Want to be part of the solution? York's Environmental Biology program is where you need to be! Environmental Biology covers the biological science aspect of environmental research and issues. Learning from some of Canada's leading environmental biologists, you will not only develop the scientific understanding needed to study and wisely manage our life-sustaining ecosystems, but you will also consider strategies for preventing and restoring ecological damage.

You will have the opportunity to develop extensive hands-on experience through field courses, the fourth-year capstone thesis course, and research practica. Environmental Biology can be taken as either a three or four year degree program, with a variety of options for double majors and major/minor combinations.

 

Careers: Environmental Assessment and Restoration, Conservation Ecologist with conservation groups and government agencies, Environmental Consultant

 

Offered as a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree
