 University Professor Emeritus Ronald Pearlman of York’s Faculty of Science & Engineering has been named president of the prestigious Royal Canadian Institute (RCI) for the Advancement of Science. Pearlman, currently first-vice-president of the RCI, is the director of York’s Core Molecular Biology/DNA Sequencing Facility and former dean and associate dean of York’s Faculty of Graduate Studies.  Dr. Suraj Unniappan has been selected by the International Federation of Comparative Endocrinology Societies (IFCES) for the Grace Pickford Medal. This medal (selection based on many criteria including potential) given every four years to the highest achieving comparative endocrinologist under 45 years of age.
