Welcome to Health and Safety in the Faculty of Science & Engineering

Health and Safety is an important aspect of the work environment. It has an effect on you and those around you. The Faculty of Science and Engineering is concerned with the health and safety of it's employee and students. We strive to ensure a safe environment for all by:

  • Assisting with coordinating compliance of all federal, provincial and local legislation pertaining to Health and Safety.
  • Reducing or eliminating accidents or injuries through the identifcation and reduction of hazards, and provision of appropriate safety training.
  • Protecting the environment through the enforcement of regulations and promition of procedures for the proper use and disposal of hazardous materials.

Training

A document that outlines the training requirements has been prepared. A list of upcoming training has been posted for sessions that have already been scheduled. If you have a few people in your group that require a certain training course, let me know and I can have special training sessions arranged.

First Aid

The Faculty of Science and Engineering has designated first aid stations within each of their buildings.

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Protocols

Here you will find a list of SOPs and their associated protocols.

Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)

The Faculty of Science and Engineering has developed a database of MSDS used within the Faculty. The databasecan be searched and each MSDS can then be downloaded or printed.

Emergency Preparedness Program

In each building that the Faculty of Science and Engineering operates Emergency Response Wardens have been estabished to assist in an evacuation.
