The research and teaching activities of the Faculty of Science & Engineering are supported by full techincal service facilities, including a machine shop, a student machine shop, an electronics shop, a glassblowing shop and two science stores.
The great diversity of research activities that take place in FSE has afforded shop staff the opportunity to develop their skills. At present the technicians hold in excess of 150 years of combined experience among them.
Work from the broader university community is welcome. Work is requested by submitting a work order (download here) to the shop staff by e-mail or in person.
The following hourly rates apply to all work done by shop staff:

The non-profit science stores are the source of scientific supplies aimed at providing convenience to the community of the Faculty of Science and Engineering.

The Electronics Shop specializes in electrical and electronics design and repair. Technical consultations on any electrical/electronic/electro-mechanical/PC(hardware) related issues are provided upon request.

The student machine shop employs a full time machinist to assist students and faculty members working on research projects and provides health and safety oriented training to 4th year undergraduate engineering students working on course related projects and other students working on faculty supervised projects only. For more information, please read the Procedure on the Use of Student Machine Shop. To receive your training please submit a Request to use the Student Shop Form to shop staff Frank Canzona.
