Janusz Koziñski, Dean

Born and raised in Poland, Janusz received his PhD in Energy & Environmental Engineering from AGH at the University of Science & Technology in Krakow.  After postdoctoral training at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Janusz joined McGill University in 1994, and  was appointed associate vice-principal (research & international relations) in 2005.  In 2006 he was named International Chair in Bioenergy for the Institute for Advanced Studies and Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique in France. Prior to joining York University, Janusz served as dean for the College of Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan.  His research focuses on sustainable energy systems including biofuels and bioenergy.

Peter Cribb, Associate Dean, Students

The Associate Dean Student Affairs, is responsible for student recruiting, promotion of Science programmes, high school liaison, student relations, academic integrity, and Faculty Council Committees which include Admissions and Recruiting, Science Curriculum, Examinations and Academic Standards, Petitions, and Teaching and Learning.

 DonHastie2 Donald Hastie, Associate Dean, Faculty

Don holds the portfolio of Associate Dean – Faculty. He is responsible for the leadership and direction of faculty-related matters including coordination of resources and opportunities to support the career development and orientation programs for all faculty members. He helps to facilitate the recruitment, appointment, promotion, retention and mentorship of faculty members. Also under his portfolio are the Part-time and Teaching Assistantship budgets, and Council Committees such as Resource, Tenure & Promotions and the Appeals sub-committee.

Richard Hornsey, Associate Dean, Engineering

Richard Hornsey, the Associate Dean, Engineering, was educated at Oxford University (UK), receiving his PhD in Engineering Science in 1989. Richard is responsible for the School of Engineering and is a professional engineer. As a professor, he teaches courses in engineering design and microsystems technology. His research interests include technology and applications of integrated image sensors, including high performance design, and biologically inspired image sensor architectures.

  Imogen R. Coe, Associate Dean, Research & Partnerships

  The Associate Dean, Research and Partnerships, Imogen Coe, is responsible
  for advancing the research agenda within the Faculty of Science and
  Engineering through support of all research activities at various levels, from
  graduate students to multi-institutional teams.  She is also responsible for
  developing local, national and international partnerships to expand research
  activities.   Imogen was educated in the UK and Canada and received her Ph.D.
  in Biology in 1992.  Her research interests focus on a family of membrane
                                                         transport proteins that is responsible for the flux of nucleosides and nucleoside
                                                         analogs across cell membranes.
