The Office of Research Services (ORS) recently received information the American Chemical Society (ACS) Petroleum Research Fund regarding its New Directions (ND) Grant Program. The ND Grant Program provides seed money to enable investigators to initiate a new research direction. A summary is provided below.
- To support fundamental research in the petroleum field, and
- To develop the next generation of engineers and scientists through support of advanced scientific education.
The New Directions Grants Program aims to stimulate a new direction of research for established faculty, and to support the careers of their student scientists and engineers.
Up to $110K
Submission to ORS – March 1, 2019
Submission to agency – March 15, 2019 by 5:00pm ET

York University researchers are reminded that all applications for external research funding, including Letters of Intent, must be reviewed and approved by the Office of Research Services before they are submitted to the granting agency. For internal approval, the application must be accompanied by a completed ORS Application Checklist, which requires the Chair’s and Dean’s signatures. To ensure that the approved application is ready by the agency deadline, a complete application folder must be submitted to the ORS ten (10) working days prior to final submission date.
