Target of Opportunity
This grant is to support multi-Faculty research teams who have evidence of prior collaboration and are ready to launch a specific preliminary research project that would lend strong support to a large-scale Tri-council grant opportunity in Fall 2019 or Spring 2020 by demonstrating feasibility, capability, importance of the endeavor, proof of concept, etc.
Deadlines and Timeline
Applications (Form, PI CV, Faculty Letters of Support, Pertinent External Partners’ Letter of Support) are due electronically to firstname.lastname@example.org by April 1, 2019. The full timeline is presented below.
|February 6, 2019||Large Grant ‘Preliminary Study’ Funding Competition Launch|
|March 1, 2019||Suggested deadline for requests for Faculty support to Faculty ADRs. Note pre-existing deadlines may exist for support funds (e.g. Faculty of Health).|
|April 1 at 12 noon||Application submission deadline|
|April 9th 10.30-1pm||ADR adjudication meeting|
|April 12th , 2019||PI notification of adjudication results|
|April 19th , 2019||Submission deadline for ethics application (Copy to email@example.com)|
|May 15 – September 15, 2019||Pilot fieldwork/data collection period|
|October 31, 2019||
Submission deadline for Report on Preliminary Study (1-2 pages). Please include as appropriate to your study: the stakeholders/community members involved, the methodology, the sample/group size, number of study participants, and the final/interim results. Highlight any differences from the original grant application.
· If the grant is submitted based on the preliminary study by this date, no report is necessary. Instead submit a copy of the grant proposal that cites the pilot study.
