The Weston Brain Institute recently announced a Call for Letters of Intent for the Rapid Response: Canada 2019 Alzheimer’s and Related Diseases. A summary is provided below
To provide seed funding to catalyze novel, high-risk, high-reward translational research to accelerate the development of therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases of aging.
Applications for this round must relate to the following disease(s):
• Alzheimer’s disease
• Frontotemporal dementia
• Mild cognitive impairment
• Progressive supranuclear palsy
• Vascular contributions to the above
• Prodromes to the above
Project must be:
• Development of a therapeutic and/or tool, and/or select complementary approaches
• Translational research that helps accelerate the development of therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases of aging
Applications that bring in other fields such as AI, big data, machine learning, data science, and computer science are encouraged.

For internal approval, the application must be accompanied by a completed ORS Application Checklist, which requires the Chair’s and the Dean’s signatures.
