The Weston Brain Institute recently launched the Rapid Response: Canada 2019 program for Parkinson’s and related diseases. A summary is provided below.
To provide seed funding for novel, high-risk, high-reward translational research ideas to accelerate the development of safe and effective treatments for neurodegenerative diseases of aging. Preliminary data is not required.
This call is focused on the PD-related diseases:
- Parkinson’s disease
- Progressive supranuclear palsy
- Multiple systems atrophy
- Prodromes to the above
- Vascular contributions to the above
Project must involve the development of either a therapeutic, a tool, select complementary approaches, or a combination of above to help accelerate the development of therapeutics for neurodegenerative disease of aging.
NEW for 2018/2019 Programs
Certain complementary approaches (i.e., physical activity, sleep and nutritional supplements) will be eligible for funding, if applications meet the Institute’s disease and project scope criteria.
