York University is committed to helping students with demonstrated financial need meet the direct education costs associated with university studies (tuition, books and course fees). In addition, we recognize and reward academic achievement through a variety of scholarship awards.
At York, tuition charged is based on credits taken – so you only pay for the courses you take.

Continuing Student Scholarships
After your first year, you will automatically be considered for scholarships and bursaries based on your academic results. You can also apply for a wide range of awards. At York, you will be rewarded for the achievements you make as a York student. Continuing student scholarships are based on your academic performance each year. The value of each award varies depending on the specific award, grades achieved, and the number of courses completed. Many of these awards require an application, but some are automatically granted.
Financial need is the main criteria for bursaries, although academic progress is a consideration. The value of the bursary depends on the level of financial need.
A variety of paid on-campus work positions are available to York students. Part-time positions are available during the September to April academic year. There are also full-time and part-time summer positions available. Various offices and operations offer positions, so there is a broad range of jobs to choose from. Science students have first consideration for positions in Science offices.
