Departments
The Faculty of Science at York University is world renowned for its academic achievements, research output, and more. The Faculty is home to a number of various departments, including the following:
Each department features various undergraduate and graduate programs that are specifically suited to satisfy incoming students who are looking to be engaged with academic content and course material in both theoretical and practical aspects.
Undergraduate programs in the Faculty of Science tend to focus more on lecture-based content that prepares students for their future, whether that be work, research, or graduate studies.
Graduate programs in the Faculty of Science are almost entirely research-based in which students develop a research project using the knowledge foundation that they have obtained from lectures and seminars.
There is also the Integrated Science program for a limited number of students. This program is an enriched first-year program that connects the major fields of science such as biology, chemistry, physics and astronomy, and mathematics and statistics to help understand and solve real-world issues as well as navigate through current scientific frontiers!
In addition to each Department, there is also the Division of Natural Science which offers general-level science courses to majors that are in a Faculty that is outside the Faculty of Science.
