The Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) recently announced the launch of its 2020 Scholarships for the Next Generation of Scientists competition, an initiative aiming at supporting future generations of Canadian researchers. Further details are provided below.

The award consists of two part covering a period of three years:
This is a post-doctoral salary award for a candidate finishing his/her fellowship. The candidate must have completed at least two years of postdoctoral training when he/she will accept the salary award on September 1st.
This is an operating grant that is awarded once the candidate has obtained a faculty position at a recognized Canadian institution.
Part 1: Postdoctoral Salary Award – $50K
Part 2: Operating Grant – $75K/year
Part 1: Postdoctoral Salary Award – 1 year
Part 2: Operating Grant – 2 years

For internal approval, the application must be accompanied by a completed ORS Application Checklist, which requires the Chair’s and Dean’s signatures. To ensure that the approved application is ready by the agency deadline, a complete application folder must be submitted to the ORS ten (10) working days prior to final submission date.
